A AWS Glue Case Study
Takenaka Corporation, a long-established construction company, needed a better way to manage and use data across previously siloed departments as part of its digital transformation. To address labor shortages, flat productivity, and new overtime limits in the construction industry, the company sought a cloud-based foundation for data collection, AI, BI, and IoT capabilities using AWS Glue and other AWS services.
AWS helped Takenaka Corporation build a digital construction solution on AWS that combines a data foundation with a growing suite of applications. Using services such as AWS Glue, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon Kinesis, the company launched the solution in November 2021 and has already developed more than 100 applications, with about 25 released within the first two years. The result is unified data use across the business, improved workforce planning, and a scalable base for future digital twin and construction-site productivity initiatives.
