Using AWS Glue as part of its AWS-based data foundation, the company set out to make searching as simple as asking questions in natural language, helping staff quickly access company and project knowledge.
AWS helped Mercedes-Benz Consulting build a serverless Q&A digital assistant using AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon SageMaker, and Amazon OpenSearch Service to extract, clean, embed, and search information at scale. The result was a faster, more accurate, near-real-time answer engine that improved employee productivity, sped up time to market, and increased user satisfaction, with the company aiming for the top three results to contain all relevant information and the first result to provide the best answer.
