ENGIE Builds the Common Data Hub on AWS, Accelerates Zero-Carbon Transition

ENGIE, a global energy company with 25 business units worldwide, needed a uniform, secure way to collect, share, and analyze increasingly decentralized data to support its zero-carbon transition. As its customers and energy assets became more distributed, ENGIE turned to AWS Glue and other AWS services to build a common data platform that could replace fragmented country-by-country systems and improve data governance.

Using AWS, ENGIE built its Common Data Hub on Amazon S3 and Amazon Redshift, with AWS Glue helping to discover, prepare, and combine data for analytics and machine learning. The solution enabled standardized data access across the company, improved productivity, and supported better energy forecasting and wind farm optimization. ENGIE has already collected 200 TB of data across more than 1,000 projects, and AWS helped the company scale a secure, collaborative data foundation for global use.
