Deloitte Cuts Deployment Times, Helps Clients Reduce Process Run Times Using AWS

Deloitte, a global professional services network, needed to combine vast, disparate real‑world data (RWD) sets to generate real‑world evidence (RWE) for faster, safer drug discovery and patient insights. To handle large‑scale, compliant ETL and analytics workloads for its ConvergeHEALTH Miner platform, Deloitte leveraged AWS services—including AWS Glue for advanced extract, transform, and load processing—to unify and prepare data for analysis.

Using AWS Glue alongside Amazon S3, EC2, RDS, VPC and an infrastructure‑as‑code approach with AWS CloudFormation and AWS Service Catalog, Deloitte automated and scaled Miner deployments and ETL pipelines. The result: Miner deployments dropped from weeks to about 45 minutes, clients reduced RWD process run times by 99% and cut related operating costs by 70%, and customers saved roughly a third of compute costs by turning instances off when idle—benefits made possible in part by AWS Glue’s ETL capability.
