Burt, a data-intelligence and analytics platform serving online advertisers and publishers, needed to accelerate ad-tech development and reduce the time spent modeling complex queries across data from hundreds of sources. To meet this challenge the company adopted AWS Glue (alongside Amazon Athena and Amazon Aurora) to help unify and manage ETL and the data catalog for its analytics stack.
By using AWS Glue as the managed ETL/Data Catalog in a data lake with Amazon Athena, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon Aurora, Burt sped up query modeling and cut customer onboarding time by more than half. The move also reduced infrastructure costs by 50%, enabled the launch of a new big-data services business unit, and supports a platform that processes billions of messages a day — outcomes driven in part by AWS Glue’s integration and AWS Enterprise Support.
