Wilmaa is a Swiss OTT and multiscreen TV provider that set out to deliver a broad lineup of live national and international channels to web browsers, smartphones, tablets and connected TVs for a multilingual audience. The company needed to support multiple formats and bitrates (RTMP, HLS, HDS and future MPEG‑DASH), ensure 24/7 high-availability and adaptive bitrate performance across variable networks, and keep operational costs, rack space and energy usage low while scaling rapidly.

Wilmaa implemented Elemental Live (software‑defined video processing) with Elemental Conductor for centralized management, redundancy and repackaging of RTMP streams into HLS/HDS for CDN delivery. The solution delivered high-quality encoding density, easy scalability and lower total cost of ownership; Wilmaa now streams 82 live channels (including eight HD), supports apps and a set‑top box, and continues to grow its user base with reliable, adaptive multiscreen viewing.
