Preview of the Tubi Case Study

Tubi reaches 15.5 million peak concurrent viewers with AWS Elemental

Tubi, a major ad-supported streaming service owned by Fox Corporation, faced the immense challenge of preparing its primarily video-on-demand infrastructure to live stream Super Bowl LIX. The event demanded support for a peak concurrent audience projected to be 20 times larger than Tubi's previous record, requiring extreme scalability and reliability to handle a sudden, massive influx of viewers.

Working with AWS, Tubi overhauled its infrastructure using AWS Elemental Media Services for broadcast-grade live video processing and scalability. The solution leveraged Amazon CloudFront for content delivery and Amazon DynamoDB for account services, all while ensuring performance and security with AWS Shield and WAF. The partnership enabled Tubi to successfully stream to a record 15.5 million peak concurrent viewers and over 24 million unique viewers, making it the most streamed NFL event in history.
