TeraLogics - Customer Case Study

TeraLogics built the Department of Defense’s Unified Video Dissemination System (UVDS) to route, process and deliver Full Motion Video (FMV) from ISR platforms worldwide. The challenge was to provide low-latency, high-quality HD video to users on bandwidth-constrained and complex networks while preserving critical KLV metadata and private MPEG‑TS PIDs through real-time transcoding.

TeraLogics deployed Elemental Live software-defined encoding to generate multiple adaptive bitrates (compressing 1–6 Mbps inputs to lower-rate H.264 outputs such as 512 kbps), enable KLV/PID passthrough, and integrate control via a REST/XML API. The result is a scalable, secure, enterprise-grade solution that delivers real-time FMV with intact metadata to global DOD users, supporting large-scale, low-latency ISR distribution.
