Seven West Media needed a faster, lower-risk way to make its large content archive more discoverable and to boost audience engagement across its streaming properties. Using AWS Elemental MediaTailor’s Channel Assembly feature, the company could quickly create pop-up and niche channels without the time, cost, and engineering effort of traditional playout.
AWS Elemental helped Seven West Media launch targeted channels for shows and events such as Big Brother, Farmer Wants a Wife, Better Homes and Gardens, and sports highlights, turning archived content into new viewing experiences. The results were strong: the Big Brother channel drove 41% of streaming minutes on digital-only channels and a 95% increase in VOD viewing, while Farmer Wants a Wife saw a 191% uptick in VOD consumption and a 25% share of digital-only streaming minutes.
