Ravensbourne University London, an industry-focused university for digital media and design, needed a way to live stream Royal Shakespeare Company performances to hundreds of schools without being limited by its on-premises infrastructure, bandwidth constraints, or uncertain audience sizes. The project also needed to be easy for schools to access and give students hands-on experience with modern broadcast technology, including AWS Elemental.

AWS Elemental helped Ravensbourne University London move to a cloud-based streaming workflow using MediaLive and MediaPackage, with CloudFront delivering the content at scale. The result was reliable live streaming to 600 schools and 84,000 students, delivering 13TB of data, with 63% of schools choosing the highest-quality stream; the solution also expanded access to remote and bandwidth-limited schools while giving students real-world broadcast production experience.
