PGA TOUR partnered with AWS Elemental to boost fan engagement and streamline its video production and delivery workflow. Using AWS Elemental Live and AWS Elemental MediaLive, along with other AWS media services, the TOUR needed a more scalable way to deliver live, low-latency golf coverage across broadcast and OTT platforms while improving the viewing experience.
AWS Elemental implemented a hybrid cloud workflow that combined on-course encoding, cloud-based transcoding, media storage, transport, and global delivery. This enabled the PGA TOUR’s “Every Shot Live” app, expanded access to nearly every shot in real time, reduced bandwidth requirements by up to 35%, and lowered on-site gear needs while maintaining image quality.
