A AWS Elemental Case Study
The PGA TOUR faced the challenge of expanding its advanced statistical and fan engagement platform, TOURCast, to international tournaments, specifically in Japan for the ZOZO Championship. They needed a highly flexible and scalable technology infrastructure to overcome unique on-site data collection constraints and process this data seamlessly. To achieve this, they partnered with AWS Elemental and leveraged a suite of Amazon Web Services cloud technologies.
AWS Elemental provided a cloud-based software stack that processed data from any input source, whether from radar, cameras, or manual GPS operators. This solution gave the PGA TOUR the ultimate modularity to deploy their system in Japan with only a small on-site team, managing the operation remotely from their Florida headquarters. The results were successful, enabling the first-ever launch of TOURCast in Asia within just four months and paving the way for broader international coverage.
