News-Press & Gazette Broadcasting (NPG) — including KTVZ in Bend, Oregon — was struggling to prepare large volumes of syndicated PitchBlue H.264 content for on-air playback under tight deadlines. Existing transcoders could take up to 40 minutes to convert a single hour of HD, creating daily bottlenecks for a station that ingests dozens of hours and hundreds of commercials and must deliver shows like Ellen on time.

NPG replaced its legacy transcoder with Elemental Server, which accelerated conversion (about a 75% efficiency gain), can transcode multiple HD streams simultaneously, preserves captions/metadata, and integrates easily into the existing PitchBlue-to-Omneon workflow.
