The National Football League (NFL) faced the challenge of efficiently searching its massive and ever-growing archive of media assets, which included over a century of video clips, statistics, and fan-generated content. This vast library made it extremely time-consuming for their teams to find specific content, inhibiting their ability to quickly capitalize on these resources for content creation and fan engagement. To solve this, they partnered with vendor AWS Elemental and utilized Amazon Bedrock to build a generative AI solution.

AWS Elemental implemented a generative AI system that uses natural language processing, allowing NFL personnel to make conversational queries to instantly find highly relevant media assets. The solution delivered results in under five seconds and exceeded its initial accuracy goal of 90%. This streamlined the search process, eliminated extensive pre-research, and provided a single entry point to all related assets for any given play, significantly improving efficiency for content creation teams.
