Globo.com Selects Elemental to Deliver 4K Video-on-Demand

Globo.com, the digital arm of Brazil’s Grupo Globo that delivers VOD and streaming for more than 100 affiliates, needed to launch 4K video-on-demand quickly while preserving a noticeable quality advantage. Facing a market that demanded superior picture quality, Globo.com required a reliable, interoperable HEVC-based workflow that could scale and meet stringent performance and reliability requirements.

Globo.com expanded its existing Elemental deployment—adding Elemental Server transcoders alongside Elemental Live and Elemental Conductor and using Elemental’s APIs—to implement HEVC encoding and streamline integration and operations. The software-defined solution enabled fast time-to-market, scalable on-premises or cloud deployment, and high-quality 4K VOD delivery, allowing Globo.com to roll out its service quickly while maintaining consistent, superior video quality.
