FOX Uses AWS to Score With Digital Audiences for Super Bowl LIV

FOX needed to deliver a flawless, large-scale live streaming experience for Super Bowl LIV while handling highly spiky demand from millions of viewers across apps and devices. To prepare, FOX worked with AWS Elemental and related AWS teams to architect, test, and harden its end-to-end streaming and data pipeline for quality, scale, and reliability.

AWS Elemental helped FOX implement a live video workflow using services such as AWS Elemental MediaLive, MediaStore, and Media Event Management, along with Amazon Kinesis and CloudFront. The solution supported a successful game-day stream, with FOX’s testing reaching 9.6 million concurrent-device equivalents and production handling 3.3 million concurrent devices, while CloudFront peaked at about 3 Tbps of traffic for FOX, enabling a secure, reliable, high-performance viewing experience.
