Elemental Transforms Video Processing for German Public Broadcaster NDR

German public broadcaster NDR sought to advance its multiscreen video initiatives and lower its distribution costs for live content delivered to web portals and mobile apps. To meet this challenge, NDR deployed video processing solutions from AWS Elemental.

The solution implemented by AWS Elemental utilized Elemental Live systems to perform 24/7 encoding of live broadcasts. This allowed NDR to create eleven streams from each input for direct distribution to a CDN, reducing their operational footprint and reliance on an external service provider. As a result, AWS Elemental helped NDR successfully bring encoding in-house, achieving significant cost savings, improved video quality, and a more efficient workflow.
