Elemental Technologies partnered with thePlatform, a Comcast-owned leader in online video publishing, to address growing demand on thePlatform’s mpx Accelerate service. thePlatform needed faster, more reliable transcoding and the ability to handle large, variable spikes in processing demand while reducing file transfer times and supporting multi‑screen distribution.

The solution uses Elemental’s hybrid architecture—dedicated on‑premise encoding appliances in thePlatform’s data centers complemented by Elemental Cloud for automatic cloud “bursting” when capacity is exceeded. Jobs are seamlessly redirected and virtual resources dynamically scaled to produce identical outputs regardless of location, delivering faster processing, geographic flexibility, lower CAPEX through right‑sized on‑prem clusters, high availability, and an easy upgrade path for future features.
