Democratizing Access to Cultural Assets Using AWS Marketplace with Sesc

Social Service of Commerce (Sesc) is a Brazilian nonprofit that serves more than 7 million people with education, health, culture, and recreation programs. When the COVID-19 pandemic halted in-person events, Sesc needed to quickly migrate and launch its Relicário Project to share rare Brazilian heritage audio worldwide, while meeting tight deadlines, ensuring audio quality, and maintaining security compliance. Sesc worked with AWS Elemental and AWS Professional Services, using AWS Elemental MediaConvert as part of its cloud-based digital distribution efforts.

AWS Elemental and AWS Professional Services helped Sesc build and launch a universally accessible, multiplatform audio experience for Sesc Digital in just 45 days. The Relicário Project went live worldwide with no sign-in required, and in its first 8 months it reached 10 million views across 15 countries. This enabled AWS Elemental to support Sesc’s mission of democratizing access to cultural assets while expanding the reach of its digital collection.
