DAZN, an international sports streaming service, faced the challenge of overhauling its infrastructure to deliver a massive, high-quality live stream of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup to a global audience across 200 territories. To achieve this for its 63-match broadcast, which required offering both freemium and premium viewing tiers, DAZN partnered with AWS Elemental and M2A Media for a scalable cloud-based solution.
The solution, built on AWS Elemental Media Services including MediaLive, MediaConnect, and MediaPackage, involved orchestrating hundreds of encoders across four AWS regions to process a huge number of video channels. This allowed DAZN to successfully stream the event with high resilience and low latency, even managing an unexpected two-hour game delay. The partnership with AWS Elemental provided the scale and reliability needed to deliver an exceptional viewing experience to billions of fans.
