A AWS CodePipeline Case Study
Lululemon Athletica faced slow, inflexible on‑premises infrastructure that made it costly and time‑consuming to develop and test new applications; standing up development environments took days and continuous integration and delivery pipelines were hard to manage. To accelerate innovation and automate CI/CD, Lululemon moved its dev, test, and production workloads to AWS and adopted services including AWS CodePipeline to enable automated, discoverable deployment pipelines.
Using AWS CodePipeline together with AWS CloudFormation, Amazon S3, Elastic Beanstalk, and Amazon Cognito, Lululemon automated environment provisioning and deployments, using immutable artifacts and templates as a single source of truth. The change cut environment build time from about two days to minutes, made small‑scale experiments inexpensive and fast, improved pipeline visibility and manageability, and allowed the company to push features and a planned customer mobile app to production much more quickly.
