How GivingTuesday Finds Non-profit PR Opportunities With Awario

#GivingTuesdayNL, the Dutch chapter of the global GivingTuesday movement, needed a way to track whether charities and the public were using the #GivingTuesdayNL hashtag around the first national event on December 3, 2019. Volunteers selected Awario to monitor social channels, websites and news/blogs, and to provide reporting and real-time engagement so the team could follow, reply to, and quantify mentions before, during and after the event.

Awario’s dashboard and reporting let the team respond directly to mentions, spot media coverage, and run live displays during an 8‑hour Facebook/YouTube event. The results: 250+ charities used the hashtag, the campaign generated 1.6K mentions with a reach of 13.5 million, became a trending topic on Twitter by midday, and led to TV and radio interviews—outcomes Awario helped the team measure and act on while saving significant staff time.
