The customer, Siems fenster + türen, a German window and door manufacturer, sought to significantly increase its production efficiency and output while managing a complex, high-variety product mix. To overcome this challenge, they partnered with software vendor A+W and implemented the A+W Cantor system to automate and control their production and administrative processes.

A+W’s solution involved the A+W Cantor CIM and Enterprise software, which created a completely networked, paperless production environment. This system synchronized automated machinery and transport lines, intelligently feeding components to workstations in the correct sequence, which eliminated searching and manual handling. The results were highly successful, enabling a one-minute production cycle per window sash, a massive reduction in manual labor to just 8-10 employees per shift, and the ability for 70-80% of orders to be processed electronically without manual intervention.
