Glassolutions - Customer Case Study

Glassolutions, a leading architectural glass manufacturer and part of the Saint-Gobain group, faced operational inefficiencies across its seven affiliated Polish plants. Each plant operated on its own unique database, leading to inconsistent master data, cumbersome maintenance, and an inability to easily share orders between sites. To overcome these challenges and unify their processes, Glassolutions partnered with software vendor A+W, building on their long-term use of products like ALFAK for order processing and ALCIM for production control.

The solution implemented by A+W was the innovative 'OneDB' project, which created a single, common database for the entire Glassolutions group with regular replication to local servers. This centralized master data management, ensuring consistency in articles and processes across all sites for both commercial and shop floor operations. The results were significant: the group IT now operates faster and more reliably, updates are less costly, and orders can be dynamically moved between plants, providing real added value and a more cost-effective, cohesive operation for Glassolutions.
