The City of Phoenix, Arizona — with more than 1.5 million residents and 14,000+ employees across 40+ departments — needed to replace its end-of-life Octel voicemail system with a robust solution that would integrate with existing PBX infrastructure, mimic the familiar user interface to minimize downtime and retraining, and eliminate costly per-user licensing.
The city selected AVST’s CX-E, deploying two systems that provided a familiar telephone user interface, centralized administration, and seamless integration with existing hardware. CX-E scaled to handle very high call volumes (about 300,000 calls/month and peaks up to 20,000/hour), reduced training and administrative overhead, and delivered roughly $40,000 in annual license savings while improving message management and reliability.
