ProjectDox Creates a Stable Foundation for Adams County’s Growth

Adams County, one of the fastest-growing counties in Colorado, was processing about 3,000 to 4,000 building permits a year and struggling with a manual plan review process. Staff spent significant time communicating with applicants, managing documents, and tracking resubmittals, while applicants often did not know when plans were ready for revision.

In 2022, Adams County implemented Avolve Software’s ProjectDox to improve notifications, comment responses, and document handling. The system centralized project information, improved transparency and internal collaboration, and reduced average review time to around three-and-a-half days, which the county said was especially notable given it had just three plans examiners.
