A Avigilon Case Study
Walsall Academy, a 1,150-student secondary school in the West Midlands, needed to better protect high-value areas and safeguard student safety and conduct. The campus originally relied on a basic analog surveillance system that lacked image clarity and manageability, and the academy needed an affordable upgrade that worked within a tight budget.
Walsall deployed a hybrid Avigilon solution—high-definition cameras for entrances and key areas, analog video encoders to boost existing analog cameras, Avigilon Control Center Enterprise NVMS, and an HD NVR that stores up to six weeks of footage. The upgrade delivered sharper images, faster investigations (finding footage in a third of the time), expanded coverage without fully replacing cameras, reduced installation and maintenance costs, and helped improve student behavior and overall campus security.
