The United Building in downtown Chicago, managed by Jones Lang LaSalle, needed to upgrade an unreliable analog surveillance system while preserving the building’s landmark lobby and meeting tenant expectations for unobtrusive security. With high-profile tenants and architecturally sensitive finishes, the team sought a high-definition solution that would deliver complete coverage without visually intrusive hardware.

They deployed 31 Avigilon HD cameras (1–16 MP), Avigilon Control Center with High-Definition Stream Management, and two NVRs—consolidating five analog lobby cameras into a single 16 MP unit. The system provides instant high‑quality playback and rapid ID (minutes), up to 30 days of on-site recording, quicker staff training and operation, and a 12% lower deployment cost versus an analog alternative.
