The United Building in downtown Chicago, managed by Jones Lang LaSalle, needed to replace an unreliable analog surveillance system while preserving the building’s architecturally significant lobby and meeting tenants’ security expectations without obtrusive measures. Management sought a high‑quality, unobtrusive solution that would deliver clear identifications and integrate smoothly with operations.

Jones Lang LaSalle deployed 31 Avigilon HD cameras (1–16 MP), Avigilon Control Center with HDSM, and two NVRs, using a single 16 MP camera to replace five analog units in the lobby. The system enabled positive identifications within minutes, reduced deployment costs by 12%, provided up to 30 days of continuous recording on-site, sped investigations, and freed security leadership to focus on team support.
