Southside Medical Center, a large community health center in Atlanta serving over 30,000 patients, faced serious security challenges—gang-related activity, patient disputes, on-site domestic incidents, after-hours break-ins and theft—while operating with a relatively small security team and an outdated analog system that couldn’t capture the detail needed for reliable investigations.

The center deployed Avigilon Control Center with High-Definition Stream Management on three NVRs, high‑resolution 16MP, 11MP and 5MP cameras, and nine analog encoders to create a hybrid system that preserved existing cameras while enabling digital migration. The upgrade delivered license-plate and facial detail capture, faster evidence review (twice as fast), lower installation and operational costs, quicker police prosecutions (including recovering a stolen vehicle), and scalable coverage to support future expansion.
