A Avigilon Case Study
Franklin Township Community School Corporation (FTCSC) is a public school district in Indianapolis serving over 10,000 students across 16 sites. Concerned that aging cameras and fragmented systems left students and staff at risk and increased incident-management costs, FTCSC worked with integrator Vermillion Systems to find a modern, easy-to-use security solution that would deliver better image quality, longer video retention, powerful search and integration with campus communications.
FTCSC deployed Avigilon’s ACC video management software with Appearance Search and Unusual Motion Detection, an Access Control Manager system, more than 400 Avigilon cameras (including analytics-enabled H4A models), two servers and MOTOTRBO radios. The upgrade produced clearer evidence for disciplinary and police action, helped reduce incidents like vaping, bullying and vandalism, sped up responses (including intercepting a trespasser and documenting vehicle damage), simplified monitoring via ACC’s Focus of Attention, and lowered ongoing costs by removing annual licensing fees.
