Slovnaft Aréna - Customer Case Study

SLOVNAFT ARÉNA, Bratislava’s renovated 10,000‑seat hockey arena and host of the 2011 IIHF World Championship, needed a robust security plan to protect large crowds, players and staff during the tournament and ongoing events. Facing greater risks of vandalism, theft and disorder as attendance grew, the arena worked with local authorities and partners to ensure a safe, well‑managed spectator experience.

The arena deployed an Avigilon high‑definition surveillance system—Avigilon Control Center with HDSM, 99 3 MP and 12 11 MP cameras, an analog encoder for a PTZ camera and an NVR with seven days’ retention—providing 24/7 monitoring and high‑clarity digital zoom for facial and license‑plate identification. The solution gave full seating‑bowl coverage with fewer cameras, sped investigations, enabled evidence sharing with police, reduced vandalism and disturbances, lowered infrastructure costs, and helped SLOVNAFT achieve the lowest crime rate among Slovak public arenas.
