Securing Sites, Staff and Shipments on an International Scale

The Administración Portuaria Integral de Guaymas (Port of Guaymas) is a major freight port in northwest Mexico handling nearly 6 million metric tons of cargo annually. Facing environmental degradation of its legacy surveillance system, the port needed a robust, weather-resistant video solution to monitor its perimeter, deter theft and drug trafficking, improve container fulfillment processes, and provide clear evidence to resolve liability claims.

API partnered with Avigilon to deploy more than 50 high‑definition H4 and multisensor cameras, Avigilon Control Center software and Access Control Manager, giving operators centralized monitoring, advanced search and self‑learning analytics. The upgrade let one fulfillment manager monitor containers centrally instead of stationing officers at each site, produced clear video used in investigations and court (including disproving a false injury claim), and provided operational and promotional footage that improved security, efficiency and regulatory compliance.
