Case Study: Wilson County Schools achieves safer, unified campus protection with Avigilon security and access control

A Avigilon Case Study

Preview of the Wilson County Schools Case Study

Schools are the Heart of the Wilson County Community

Wilson County Schools, the ninth largest district in Tennessee and the largest employer in Wilson County, serves about 18,500 students across 21 schools and numerous support facilities. The district faced bullying, mischief and vandalism while relying on an outdated, decentralized surveillance system that offered limited protection and made coordinated response difficult.

Partnering with System Integrations Inc., WCS deployed Avigilon cameras, encoders and Avigilon Control Center software—with district-wide access control and a classroom pilot using H4 Fisheye cameras and locks. The upgrade delivered higher-quality video, centralized monitoring, AI analytics (Appearance Search and Unusual Motion Detection), faster incident response, improved lockdown and mustering capabilities, and added peace of mind for staff, students and parents; the district is now expanding the system and planning license-plate capture additions.
