Salop Design & Engineering is a UK metal-pressings manufacturer with more than 50 years in business, about 120 employees and an 80,000 sq ft facility. Facing rising scrap-metal theft and strict industry safety rules, the company needed a way to protect its £3M annual raw-material investment and ensure health and safety compliance across its plant.

Salop deployed an Avigilon high-definition surveillance system—ACC with HDSM, an NVR with 12 days’ storage, 2–5 MP cameras (including a 5 MP camera covering the entrance and large parking area and 2 MP cameras fixed on machines) and ACC Mobile for remote monitoring. The system lets directors investigate incidents within minutes, use footage for training to enforce safety procedures, improve stock control by 100%, boost productivity through machine monitoring, and cut costs associated with theft and damaged materials.
