A Avigilon Case Study
Looe Town Council, serving the small coastal tourist town of Looe in Cornwall, faced growing safety and disorder issues as its population doubled during peak season. Its aging analog CCTV was grainy, unreliable and ill-suited to the town’s narrow, historic streets and conservation-area restrictions, making incident detection and evidence capture difficult.
The Council upgraded to an Avigilon high‑definition system—2 MP cameras in unobtrusive, weatherproof enclosures, Avigilon Control Center software, an NVR for storage, and analog encoders to integrate existing cameras—installed by Securi‑Guard. The solution delivered clearer, court‑quality footage, much faster searches, reduced maintenance and lower total cost of ownership, and improved policing and public safety, with plans to expand coverage.
