Grippon is a growing Brazilian department store chain (est. 1983) that opened an 8th, 21,500 sq ft, three‑floor location in Queimados, Rio de Janeiro. The store needed to secure the large retail space, exterior and parking lot, reduce theft and accidents, and replace an inadequate analog system with a more capable HD solution.

Grippon installed 40 Avigilon 1 MP and 2 MP HD dome cameras with HDSM, Avigilon Control Center (ACC) on desktops, ACC Mobile for remote viewing, and an analog encoder to integrate legacy cameras. The panoramic IP cameras and PoE infrastructure cut network points and infrastructure costs by about 50%, reduced future maintenance, improved theft detection and response with superior image quality and remote management, and delivered an estimated payback within two years.
