A Avigilon Case Study
Georgetown County School District (GCSD) serves about 9,500 students across 10 elementary, 4 middle and 4 high schools on the South Carolina coast. After discovering its legacy camera system was at end-of-life and left coverage gaps, the district secured a widely supported bond referendum (80% approval) to fund a major security upgrade aimed at reducing misconduct and making surveillance easier for administrators, security staff and law enforcement.
GCSD deployed a complete solution including Avigilon Control Center, more than 1,000 Avigilon cameras (H4A Bullet, H4 Mini Dome, H4 Fisheye) and Motorola XPR 3500e radios, bringing self-learning analytics, improved low-light and 360° coverage, and district-wide communications. The result is a centralized, intuitive system that speeds investigations and first-responder access, reduces behavioral incidents and vandalism, and streamlines disciplinary actions and operational collaboration.
