A Avigilon Case Study
Fort Dodge Community School District, a 3,500-student K–12 district in Northwest Iowa, needed a scalable, IP-based, high-definition surveillance system to better protect students and staff and replace an aging analog setup that struggled with identification, storage limits, and sharing footage with law enforcement.
FDCSD deployed Avigilon Control Center with HDSM, Avigilon 3 MP, 5 MP and 8 MP panoramic cameras, analog encoders and an Avigilon NVR (30 days storage), running on the district’s existing network. The upgrade delivered dramatically improved image quality, mobile access, and simple central management, eliminated maintenance time, cut infrastructure and installation costs, enabled cost-effective expansion (roughly $1,500 per camera vs. $8,000 previously) and produced video used as court evidence.
