A Avigilon Case Study
Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS), serving 110,000 residents across 2,400 km² in Ontario, needed to strengthen security at its 6,000 m² headquarters and provide detailed, court‑ready evidence to meet disclosure requirements. Their legacy surveillance suffered from unreliable hardware, poor audio/video synchronization and limited local support, leaving prisoner monitoring, protection of critical assets and 911 infrastructure at risk.
CKPS deployed Avigilon’s high‑definition surveillance solution—Avigilon Control Center software with HDSM, 12 analog video encoders to boost 48 existing analog cameras, and two NVRs with automatic failover storing 30 days of footage—with improved audio sync and remote access. The system delivered full redundancy and easier management, cutting evidence‑preparation time by about 90%, improving conviction rates, and freeing staff for other security duties.
