A Avigilon Case Study
The Bomann Museum in Celle, Germany — a 6,500 sq. ft. regional museum housing valuable historical exhibits — faced inadequate protection from theft and vandalism due to an aging analog surveillance system that delivered poor image quality and limited scalability. Staff needed a reliable, easy-to-use solution that could integrate existing analog cameras, improve on-site safety for visitors and staff, and lower overall security costs.
The museum deployed the Avigilon high‑definition surveillance system with Avigilon Control Center (HDSM), 1 MP and 2 MP cameras, analog video encoders and NVRs to create a hybrid setup with up to 90 days of recorded footage and live monitoring. The upgrade delivered clearer images, faster searches and 70% quicker investigations, while dramatically reducing maintenance and total cost of ownership and giving staff greater confidence in site security.
