Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s largest port operator, needed to strengthen security and meet industry regulations while improving operational efficiency across its sites. The challenge was to deploy a flexible, high‑definition surveillance solution that could leverage ABP’s existing network and integrate with its legacy analog equipment while minimizing installation time and cost.

ABP implemented Avigilon Control Center with HDSM, Avigilon HD cameras, analog video encoders and NVRs at the Ports of Grimsby and Immingham to provide 24/7 monitoring and 30 days of recorded footage. The system delivered higher image quality and faster playback for quicker investigations, enabled centralized remote control of weighbridges and lockgates, reduced installation costs by using existing infrastructure, and provided a scalable, future‑proof surveillance platform.
