A Avid Technology Case Study
Finland’s national public broadcaster Yle needed to move away from tape-based production and replace a patchwork of editing systems across multiple campuses to handle about 20,000 hours of TV programming a year. Yle turned to Avid Technology, using Avid Interplay and the Avid MediaCentral platform to create a more manageable, digital media workflow.
Avid Technology implemented an end-to-end workflow with Interplay | Production, ISIS shared storage, and Interplay | MAM, giving Yle centralized asset management and faster access to media across ingest, editing, transmission, and archive. The result was a more efficient production process, concurrent editing for multiple users, less reliance on specialist editors, and easier reuse of archived content dating back to the 1960s, with the added ability to support digital archive publishing and future cross-searching of current and historical assets.
