Splash Media Creates a One-man Virtual Studio with Avid

Splash Media needed to launch two TV networks in a very small studio space—about the size of a two-car garage—while keeping staffing to a minimum. The company turned to Avid Technology for a virtual-studio solution, working with Telemetrics to fit a robotic camera system into its space-constrained facility in Addison, Texas.

Avid Technology delivered a 100% 3D, multi-camera virtual studio with a 180° chroma-key wall and robotic camera control, allowing one operator to manage the studio and three cameras from the control room. The result was a highly efficient workflow that let Splash Media run 10 virtual sets, produce more than 11 hours of programming daily, and achieve the capabilities of a much larger studio without the added space or expense.
