SKY Perfect JSAT Building a World-Class 4K HDR Sports Service

SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation needed a more stable, efficient, end-to-end file-based production platform to support live sports editing, 4K/HDR workflows, and highlights creation during broadcasts. The company turned to Avid Technology, using Avid Media Composer | Ultimate, Avid Interplay | Production, ISIS | 7500 shared storage, and Avid NEXIS E4 nearline storage as part of its Tokyo Media Center upgrade.

Avid Technology helped deliver a unified workflow linking feed recording, ingest, editing, and master control room delivery, with support for simultaneous recording of up to 20 HD feeds and low-latency playback while files were still being captured. The result was one of Japan’s largest state-of-the-art file-based systems, enabling SKY Perfect JSAT to build a flexible “Sports 4K Live” service with improved operational consistency and 4K HDR readiness.
