Raycom Sports Teams Up with Avid to Deliver a Multi-faceted Fan Experience

Raycom Sports, the television broadcast partner and digital rights holder for the ACC, needed to keep up with rising fan expectations for fast, immersive game-day coverage while producing a high volume of live sports and digital content. With tight turnaround deadlines and a growing archive of historical footage to preserve, the team needed more storage, faster workflows, and better media management from Avid Technology, using tools including MediaCentral, Media Composer, and Avid NEXIS.

Avid Technology implemented a cohesive shared-storage and tapeless production workflow that connected ingest, editing, playout, and media indexing across the organization. As a result, Raycom Sports increased storage from 80 TB to nearly 200 TB in a single Avid NEXIS chassis, doubled FastServe channels from four to eight per chassis, and was able to turn content around in seconds without rendering or file transfers, helping the team meet demanding deadlines and digitize its ACC archive more efficiently.
