For Students of SIMUSIC at Woosong College Pro Tools | S6 Is the Golden Ticket to Success

Woosong College’s SIMUSIC Department, led by Professor Sung Cheol Lim, needed to modernize its aging recording studio and update its curriculum for a digital music-production world. The school wanted a more intuitive, durable system for students learning recording and mixing, and it chose Avid Technology’s Pro Tools and Avid S6 control surface to replace a decade-old TASCAM analog recorder.

Avid Technology implemented a Mac-based Pro Tools | HDX/HD setup with Avid S6, plus additional Pro Tools systems and upgraded outboard gear. The result was a more efficient, user-friendly workflow that supported both Pro Tools and Logic, streamlined classes across the department, and helped students produce and release albums such as SoLaMi on Korean streaming services, reducing technical hurdles and strengthening hands-on learning.
