Bringing The Legend of Tarzan to Life with Pro Tools

The Legend of Tarzan faced a demanding sound-design challenge, with a mostly CGI-driven film set across contrasting locations like Victorian London and the Congo. Sound re-recording mixer Niv Adiri and supervising sound editor Glenn Freemantle worked with Avid Technology, using Pro Tools and the Pro Tools | S6 control surface to keep the audio workflow flexible and to coordinate closely with the picture team as visuals and VFX evolved.

Using Avid Technology’s Pro Tools and S6, the team built the soundtrack in a live, efficient workflow that made it easier to shape dense jungle ambiences, powerful ape sequences, and Tarzan’s signature yell while keeping the mix believable and balanced. The result was a rich, immersive soundscape that brought the film’s environments to life and simplified a complex editing process from start to finish.
