Rat Sound Systems, the lead sound provider for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, faced the challenge of managing a fast-paced, high-pressure, sold-out desert event with more than 150 acts across five stages. To meet the needs of touring engineers and survive extreme heat and constant changeovers, Rat Sound chose Avid Technology’s VENUE systems and VENUE Profile consoles, along with Pro Tools integration, as the core live sound solution.

Avid Technology implemented 14 VENUE Profile systems and five Pro Tools | HD Native rigs linked through VENUE Link, enabling quick console switching, streamlined patching, and instant session setup for live multitrack recording. The result was a smooth, hiccup-free festival with faster changeovers, consistent sound quality, and under-a-minute session creation with 100% accuracy; Coachella and Rat Sound both reported it was the smoothest event yet and were extremely pleased with the outcome.
