Avid Systems Power Austin City Limits Music Festival

Austin City Limits (ACL) needed a larger production facility and a more integrated audio/video workflow when it moved from Studio 6A to Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater. The team wanted premium sound quality, reliability, and a system that could support live concert production and post-production for PBS broadcasts, so ACL turned to Avid Technology and its audio and video tools.

Avid Technology implemented a complete end-to-end workflow built around System 5-BP consoles, Pro Tools, AirSpeed recorders, ISIS shared storage, Media Composer, and Video Satellite. The result was tightly synchronized audio and video capture, faster conforming and remixing, and more efficient post-production. According to the case study, ACL can now save and finish the show at night, then start editing and mixing the next morning with all media already synced, helping the team meet delivery deadlines while expanding creative flexibility.
